Cookie Policy

    1. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files that websites place on your device to remember information about your visit. The same regulations that apply to cookies under the EU/UK GDPR and the ePrivacy Directive also apply to similar technologies such as localStorage and sessionStorage. This page covers all of them collectively as "cookies".

    2. How We Use Cookies

We use a small number of cookies and similar technologies to make SkyMirage Studio work, remember your accessibility preferences, and learn — in aggregate — what parts of the site are useful. We do not use cookies to build advertising profiles, do not share cookie data with ad networks, and do not sell cookie data to third parties.

    3. Categories of Cookies We Use

    • Strictly necessary. Required for the site to function — e.g. remembering your cookie-consent choice and keeping forms working. These cannot be turned off and do not require consent under GDPR.
    • Preferences. Remember small choices like accessibility widget settings so the site feels consistent across visits.
    • Analytics. Aggregated, anonymized usage data that helps us understand which pages are popular and where visitors come from. Only set if you accept the cookie banner. You can withdraw consent at any time.

    5. What Analytics Collects About You

When you accept the cookie banner, every page view records the following — and only the following — pieces of information:

    • The path you visited and the timestamp.
    • The host of the site that referred you (e.g. google.com) — never the full referring URL.
    • UTM tags, if your link contained any.
    • Your browser's user-agent string, used to derive aggregated device / browser / OS counts.
    • Your country (ISO code only — e.g. US, DE), obtained from a third-party IP lookup. Your IP address is not stored by us.
    • Your browser's timezone string (e.g. Europe/Berlin).
    • A short-lived random session ID stored in your browser's sessionStorage.

For full context on retention, your rights, and the third parties involved, see our Privacy Policy.

    6. Your Choices and How to Withdraw Consent

When you first visit the site we show a consent banner with two options:

    • Accept. Allows analytics — including the country lookup described above.
    • Decline. Only strictly necessary cookies are used. No page-view data is recorded and no third-party country lookup is performed.

You can change your mind at any time by clearing the cookie-consent entry in your browser's local storage (the banner will reappear), or by adjusting your browser's cookie settings. Most browsers also let you block third-party cookies entirely.

    7. Third-Party Cookies

Some pages may load content from third parties (for example, embedded videos, fonts, or the IP-to-country service mentioned above). Those providers may set their own cookies under their own policies. We do not control those cookies.

    8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. For the broader picture of how we handle your personal data and your GDPR rights, see our Privacy Policy.
